❗ Waarom actie voeren?
Op 26 en 27 juni vindt er in Brussel een Europese top van staatshoofden plaats.
Op de agenda: defensie, Rusland, en de economie in relatie tot de VS.
Maar het klimaat, milieu en sociale rechtvaardigheid krijgen nauwelijks aandacht.
Onder druk van lobby’s en conservatieve regeringen worden belangrijke klimaat- en milieuwetten verzwakt of teruggedraaid:
Doelstellingen voor 2040
Natuurherstelwet
Zorgplicht van bedrijven
Verbod op verbrandingsmotoren
Beperking pesticiden, GGO’s, watervervuiling
Budget voor een rechtvaardige transitie
EU-MERCOSUR-verdrag en fossiele brandstoffen
➡️ Tegelijk blijft Europa stil over de genocide in Palestina, criminaliseert het migratie, en legt het harde sociale besparingen op… terwijl het 800 miljard euro investeert in herbewapening.
🌍 Eerder hebben we wél iets in beweging gezet
Dankzij grote betogingen in 2018 en 2019 werd het Europees Green Deal mogelijk
Tijd om opnieuw onze stem te laten horen!
De lobby’s zijn luid — laten wij nog luider zijn.

🎤 Jean-Pascal van Ypersele, former Vice-Chair of the IPCC, will be joining the mobilisation.
❗ Why mobilise?
On 26 and 27 June, a European Summit of Heads of State will take place in Brussels.
While defence issues (Russia) and economic matters (US relations) will dominate the agenda, climate, environment, and social justice are being sidelined.
🛑 Under pressure from corporate lobbies and conservative governments, key progress is being dismantled:
2040 climate targets
Nature restoration law
Corporate due diligence rules
2035 ban on combustion engines
Plans to reduce pesticides, GMOs and water pollution
Fair funding for the just transition
Possible return to fossil fuels via the EU-MERCOSUR deal
➡️ Meanwhile, Europe remains passive in the face of the genocide in Palestine, criminalises migrants, and imposes harsh austerity on people — all while allocating €800 billion to rearmament.
🌍 We’ve already made a difference
In 2018 and 2019, massive citizen and youth climate mobilisations helped achieve historic wins — including the European Green Deal. Now we need to act again — loudly and visibly!
Lobbies are loud. We must be louder.
